When your audio and video become out of sync during live streams, it creates a distracting experience for viewers where sound doesn't match mouth movements. This typically occurs due to processing delays in either the audio or video chain, often caused by software settings or hardware limitations.
1. Identify which stream is lagging
• Audio playing before video indicates video processing issues
• Video showing before audio indicates audio latency problems
• The subjective sync range is between -25ms to +125ms delay
2. Optimise microphone and audio settings
• Check and configure microphone sample rate and format for consistency
• Higher sample rates increase processing load; balance for your system
• Ensure all audio devices use matching sample rates to avoid conflicts
3. Disable resource-intensive features
• Remove any audio filters (processing effects) in Live Studio
• Turn off beauty modes and video enhancements to reduce video processing
• Clear all video special effects to minimise rendering delays
4. Use audio offset as a temporary fix
• Apply audio delay compensation only if hardware issues persist
• This is a last resort and doesn't solve the root cause
• Always prefer proper chain optimisation over software workarounds
5. Contact TikTok Live Studio support
• Provide your UID or room ID and exact timestamp of the issue
• Include complete logs from %appdata%\TikTok LIVE Studio\logs
• Package and send the entire logs directory for technical analysis
